PE Teaching Assistant

The Gower School are looking to appoint a highly motivated, dedicated and enthusiastic PE Teaching Assistant with experience of dealing with children within an educational setting to complement our sports department in our expanding primary school.

This can be for either 3 or 5 days per week which starts in September 2023.

Job Description

The key responsibilities are:

  • Implement a wide range of interesting and stimulating planned activities for the children
  • Encourage and help the children during these activities
  • Organise and set up equipment needed for each lesson and store equipment away appropriately
  • Update the Sports Notice Board
  • To be flexible and cover elsewhere if requested, including moving between school sites
  • Work as a proactive part of the team
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office
  • To support the Head of PE and sports department as required

Working hours

Two options: 3 days per week on Tuesdays, Thursday and Fridays or 5 days per week – 8 hours per day for 48 weeks of the year.

Person specification

Our ideal candidate will be sensitive, flexible, talented and passionate with a good team spirit and will experience working with children. Holding FA and ASA qualifications is desirable.
