Office and Admissions Manager – Maternity Cover

Are you looking for a new challenge in an Ofsted and ISI Outstanding setting? We require an organised Office Manager with experience managing admissions to join the team.

The Office and Admissions Manager is expected to take a keen interest in Nursery life and support the Head of Nursery and staff team to ensure the smooth running of the office and nursery. They are the key point of contact for the Nursery and are required to foster good relationships, both internally and externally.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To efficiently manage all aspects of nursery admissions
  • Monitor the info email inbox, replying to all parent and external enquiries in a timely manner
  • Managing daily staffing, organise weekly rotas and arranging agency cover when required
  • Ensuring full compliance with Nursery policies and procedures and ISI regulations
  • Coordinate and oversee the day to day running of the nursery office
  • Responsible driving exceptional customer service
  • Work in partnership with senior management, note taking and liaising with contractors
  • Diary management, arrange SEN appointments, progress checks and teacher meetings
  • Authorising holidays and TOIL, managing accrued hours and updating records accordingly
  • Recording on-site accidents and illnesses and communicating this information to parents
  • Arranging annual events such as photo day, sports day, and any extracurricular activities
  • Setting up Open Mornings for prospective parents, welcoming them to the nursery, organising refreshments, ensure IT required for the welcome meeting is in place.
  • Reviewing current office systems and identifying improvements to achieve best practice

 

Additional duties include:

Assisting the Principal or senior leaders with tasks whenever requested.

Salary: Starting from £32,000 dependent on qualifications and experience and will be discussed at interview stage.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours a week – the school is open from 8am to 6pm, 48 weeks of the year and staff work within a shift system. This is a Maternity Cover position.

Person specification:

  • An experienced Office Manager with a minimum of three years’ experience
  • School or nursery admissions experience
  • Proven organisational skills with an eye for detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to delegate and monitor effectively
  • Ability to prioritise, work methodically and remain calm under pressure
  • Think creatively and imaginatively to solve problems and identify opportunities
  • Flexible, adaptable and open to new ideas
  • Approachable and sensitive, adapt easily to a diverse and changing environment
  • Self-sufficient and comfortable working alone/unsupervised
  • Work under their own initiative
  • Strong IT skills using Microsoft Office package
  • Willing to consult and seek advice when appropriate and learn from experience
  • Excellent and professional personal presentation
  • A good sense of humour
  • You will be educated to A-Level, with GCSE passes in English and Maths (essential) or hold a degree (highly desirable).
