Administrator/Copywriter

The Gower School is looking for a creative and adaptable Administrator with copywriting abilities to join our Communications team. We are a vibrant Montessori school community and we strive to produce engaging content that highlights our unique culture. You will be responsible for planning and writing a wide range of content and marketing material – including newsletters, emails, website copy, blog posts, press releases and social media posts.

You will work with our Communications Manager to promote upcoming events at our Nursery and Primary School, both to current TGS families and external audiences. If you’re a strong writer with a flair for marketing and excellent spelling and grammar, we would love to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

· Producing a weekly newsletter for our Primary School and a fortnightly newsletter for our Nursery.

· Writing and updating copy across our website.

· Writing and uploading blog posts using our content management system.

· Overseeing our general tone of voice across communications.

· Writing social media posts about school events.

· Contributing to our social media presence on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.

· Proofreading and copyediting content for the Principal and colleagues.

· Writing and distributing press releases to news outlets.

· Writing and updating copy for Google Ads.

· Assisting the Principal or school leaders with administrative tasks whenever requested.

Working hours: This is a part-time position. Your basic hours of work are on a nine-hour shift (with an hour-long lunch break). You will work three days per week – one of which must be a Friday as that is when our newsletters are sent out to the TGS community.

You are expected to be cooperative in working outside your normal hours, as necessary, to cope with varying situations and workloads.

Person specification:

Our ideal candidate will be organised, flexible and will have excellent communication and writing skills. You will have great attention to detail and the ability to work well in a team. Graphic design knowledge (using platforms such as Canva) and video editing skills are highly desirable.
